Thursday, February 9 Time: 7:30 - 8:30PM Speaker: Jim Blundo Topic: “Birth Order—Roles We Assume In a Family" Did you know that the birth order in your family can give us both advantages and disadvantages throughout our life? Do you realize how much our birth order affects all our relationships and how we deal with them? Whether we are the oldest, middle, youngest or only child, our birth order affects our personality and development. It all began with determining the kind of relationship we had with our parents and siblings; and presently it still affects our relationships at home, on the job, or with our social contacts. Tonight, our speaker will show us both the positive and negative effects and roles that children acquire because of their birth order. He will also share with us how each birth order individual experiences their feelings differently and then explore the effects on one’s personality and decision making throughout life. Jim Blundo, MA, MSW, LPC, CCMHC, NCC is a practicing therapist in Rochester Hills and our past FSSC President. As a therapist, he counsels individuals, couples and teens, specializing in family and relationship issues, divorce recovery, addictions, trauma, stress, and depression. Presently, he is also serving on the Governing Council of the A.M.H.C.A. and running workshops in training counseling professionals.
